Proprietress’ Speech
From Proprietress Desk
It's my delight to be part of this year graduation. God has been faithful to us in seeing this school growing to this level. From humble beginnings in our parlour at Ago-Ilara, Ilisan Remo to Prof. Awoniyi's house where Mrs Ruth Aderanti (now a Prof) our guest speaker for today lived, to an uncompleted building at Paradise street, to our own building along the same street, until the present location. God, we are grateful. Our joy has no bounds when we see these numbers of pupils, students, staff and parents of GJ Cornerstone and Cornerstone Academy. Last year fifteen of our students graduated. They passed their West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO) for Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) well. I'm happy to inform you that many of them have gained admission into higher institution. Year 2023 set will definitely improve on the standard of the previous sets. Our teachers are all university graduates. They have put-in a lot of efforts in order to surpass the previous achievement. My God will bless you all. Our acting principal, Elder Uzoije, you are doing well. I'm proud of you.
Education is the best legacy, any parent can give to children. Ben Carson was born and nurtured by a single parent, still he became the best neurosurgeon in the world in 1987. Parents, continue to support your children, by the grace of God you will reap bountifully.
Our plan in the nearest future, by the grace of God is to develop our school land along Irolu road. This will enable us to have better facilities for games and sports. Emphasis on education should shifts to Vocational and Technical education. We have started through our Vocational subjects. In short distance time more equipment and apparatus will be purchased to enhance these.
I'm aware of the challenges of many of us after COVID-19 pandemic and removal of subsidy on fuel. It has not been easy. My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.
I cannot forget to thank our parents who are our partners in training these children. Thanks for regular payment of school fees and support to your children.
I will like to thank our guest speaker for today Prof. Mrs Aderanti, Ruth for her support to the school from the beginning and for her thought provoking lecture during this year graduation. By the grace of God next programme will witness a lot of progress. God will bless and enlarge your coast. Thank you all.
